I don’t believe in calling up people for work. I am too dignified to do my own PR. I have a music video to my credit which had its own advantages and disadvantages. People perceived me as an ‘item number’ though the music video was a great success and I had done no songs in movies. It took a long time for people to understand me. The advantage was that it offered me a great platform to come into movies. Now I have three films where I play solo leads. I don’t want to do the smallest of roles in the biggest of banners," says Deepal Shaw.

The Kalyug actress continues, "I am looking forward to great work now. I am working with good actors. I am playing a journalist in Wednesday. I am lucky I got to work with actors like Naseeruddin shah and Anupam Kher."  In all the three films she is playing characters which male actors used to play. "They are male-dominated characters and I have broken the record now," declares Deepal.
