Raju Khan’s Showbiz, that reportedly promises to blow the lid off the ugly side of the television world, will have actor Gulshan Grover play the role that Ekta Kapoor dons in real life. That Gulshan’s role is based on Ekta apparently has miffed the telequeen no end. Gulshan admits that his role is a take-off on Ekta. "It is true that I am playing the king of the television world just like Ekta. I have shot for Showbiz and it is shaping out just the way Mahesh Bhatt, Raju and I had visualised it."

Tell him that Ekta is angry about the fact that it is she who is going to be spoofed on in the film and Gulshan replies, "I cannot comment on that. I admit that it was Raju and my idea to model my character on her. Even if I would not say, people would have come to know anyway." He adds, "I maintain what Mahesh said that it is characters and incidents in real life that inspire one to make films."

Gulshan, who is currently in the US, adds, "I am here to meet a casting director. There’s another offer for an international venture. We have not had our official meeting till now so it is too early to say anything."Gulshan reveals that he is also there to meet his son who is studying in the US. "I have told my son to first complete his education. He can then take up films if he wants to." He adds, "The film industry is a very unpredictable place so it always pays if you have a degree to fall back on."
