After doing a romantic comedy like Chupke Se, Masumeh will now be seen in Sanjay Gupta’s Alibaug and Dus Kahaniyan. The actress is not ready to talk much about the films and the roles. “Alibaug is a thriller and I can’t reveal much,” says the actress. She adds, “All I can reveal is that the film is being directed by Sanjay Gupta and it has been a great experience.” It is said that the actress has shared screen space with Sanjay Dutt. She says, “I have not. The film has casts Sanjay Suri, Sophie and Diya Mirza.”
Masumeh came to India when she was a one-year-old. She went to school in Pune. The acting bug bit her young; she started theatre at the age of 10, and turned professional when she was 14. She later forayed into television with serials like Thoda Hai Thode Ki Zaroorat Hai, Radha and Suhana Safar. After a two-year break, Masumeh started venturing into international projects. She did a German film Gate To Heaven and a small project called One Into One Point Six.
Her biggest break in Bollywood, however, was Mahesh Manjrekar’s film Padmashree Laloo Prasad Yadav. The actress is not seen doing too many films at the moment. “That’s right, I haven’t pushed myself. I am bit of a vagabond by nature. I love travelling and am out most of the time,” she says. “I was in Los Angeles for six months doing modelling a feature. I did a Canadian film and a Broadway play. But now that I am back, I will be doing my sister Shauna’s two films that she is planning to begin shortly,” says the actress. |
