After getting rave reviews for her performance in Black, Nandana Sen, is not only looking forward to a host of Bollywood ventures, but international movies as well. The actress first talks about Ketan Mehta’s Rang Rasiya. “It is based on artist Raja Ravi Verma’s life. I play his love interest. Randeep Hooda is doing a pivotal role. We will start shooting for the film at N.D. Studios in a week’s time,” says Nandana.
About her forthcoming venture, Marigold, she says, “I play a very spirited Rajasthani girl and am Salman’s fiancée, or the Indian love interest. It was fun doing the role and I enjoyed working with Salman.” When asked what is keeping the actress away from Bollywood, she replies, “Indian films are in my blood. I grew up watching Indian films, but I have been globe trotting. Whether it’s Indian or international, it doesn’t matter to me — what matters is the script and the characters. After Black I did films like Tango Charlie and Ram Gopal Varma’s My Wife’s Murder.”
Does that mean Nandana is not ready for commercial Indian ventures? “I never said no to Indian films. I am fond of Indian cinema. We have a healthy commercial cinema and it has captivated a large audience all over the world. There are no hard and fast rules that I will not do Indian movies,” says the Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen’s daughter.
