Vinod Mehra’s daughter Sonya Mehra, who is making her debut in Victoria No. 203, says her acting teacher convinced the producer that she could do the tough scenes in the film. Her acting teacher is none other than actor Anupam Kher. "Kamal Sadanah was not convinced that I could do it but Anupam pushed him to take me in." shares Sonya, who will be playing Saira Banu’s role. In fact Sonya learnt how to ride the Victoria on the streets of Mumbai. "I specifically remember people gathering on the roads when I was shooting and I climbed on the Victoria like a queen. I felt so proud and felt even better when I heard people saying I am Vinod Mehra’s daughter," she says. She adds, "It was nice to know that they recognised me even before my film has released." "I will always treasure those moments. I only wish my father was here to see me, he would have felt proud too," Sonya says, with nostalgia in her eyes.
