Karan Johar longing to act in films |

Top Bollywood director Karan Johar, known for his star-studded big budget films which exhibit lavish set decoration and costumes, now wants to act.
"I would love to act in movies and I'm really open to offers," 34-year-old Johar said during the launch of a high-end international clothing store in the Indian capital on Saturday.
"I'm not looking forward to people offering me a hero's role in their films. I'll even love to do a cameo in the films as I feel after hosting so many shows and even walking the ramp, I'll be confident in front of the camera."Johar has directed some of Bollywood's widely popular movies like "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" (Something Is Happening), "Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham" (Sometimes Happiness, Sometimes Sorrow).His 2006 hit "Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna" (Never Say Goodbye) saw him probe marital tensions, Bollywood's departure from showcasing marriage as the heart of Indian family values.
Johar has made small appearances in some films.
His first appearance was in one of Bollywood's biggest musical blockbusters "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" (Lovers Will Walk Off with the Bride) in which he played the role of the hero's friend.
