Talented actor Om Puri has recorded a recorded a rap song for Amol Palekar’s film. The yet untitled film is a musical comedy by Palekar with music by Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy. Industry insiders are amazed at how Palekar managed to convince Puri to lend his voice, especially to a rap song. Palekar says, “Let us not discuss that until you listen to the song. It will be a chartbuster.”
Speaking from London, Loy of the SEL trio was not ready to reveal much. “We are yet to record it,” is all he said. But when we told him that we already have confirmed news about it, he seemed surprised. Post-Paheli, Palekar has launched his next Hindi venture which is a lighter film full of hilarious situations and a lot of songs like his 1990 musical, Thodasa Roomani Ho Jaaye starring Nana Patekar.
Puri was unavailable for comment. The versatile actor is also currently busy following another creative pursuit, writing. He is presently working on his autobiography. A few days back he had said, “I wanted to keep it away from the media glare until it is complete and published. I have finished writing a major portion and am looking forward to a yearend release. The book will have an honest account of my life, selective memories and my experiences in the industry.” |
