Shreyas Talpade to act as Bihari |

 Shreyas Talpade is playing a Bihari student studying in Delhi University in Prakash Jha’s forthcoming film Dil Dosti Etc. The film is being directed by Manish Tiwari and is based in Delhi University. "It’s an unusual story of two completely different people, their aspirations and ambitions. I play Sanjay, an ambitious and focused Bihari student-politician in Delhi. Prakashji and Manish helped me with the Bihari accent," he says.
When asked whether his real life experiences helped in enhancing the role, Shreyas says, "To some extent they did, but I have never stayed in a hostel. I also contested for the college elections and got only four votes."
How was the camaraderie with co-star Imaad? "Imaad often reminds me of his father. I had worked with Naseerji in Iqbal and Imaad is so much like him. In fact, we hit it off well because he is a theatre actor too," reveals Shreyas.
About the film and the director Shreyas says, "We had workshops and by the time we started shooting, we were focused and knew what we were doing. In fact, Prakashji used to be there on the sets everyday but never interfered. But he did give suggestions when we were at the workshops. We had our share of fights and arguments with the director, but once on the sets, we were back to normal. In fact Prakashji was always open to suggestions."
The actor has now turned producer with his film Kande Pohe with the support of Subhash Ghai. Shreyas says, "The film is a social comedy with added doses of suspense and emotion. It stars Sai Tamhankar and is being directed by Rajiv Patil," informs Shreyas. |
