Sikandar Kher, son of actors Anupam and Kirron Kher, is making his debut in Sanjay Gupta’s Woodstock Villa, being directed by Hansal Mehta. Kher Jr was already making waves even before Gupta had signed for his film. The actor was more popular for his night life, social circle and link-ups. Ask Sikandar about it and he says, "I am just 25 years old. My girlfriend is my work now. I am two timing my work with other work. People write about my friends because I have not done any films. Who doesn’t like girls, anyway?" Point noted Sikandar.
Insiders say that Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanted to cast Sikandar for Saawariyan but Gupta cracked the deal with the actor before Bhasali could. "I don’t know how these rumours have come up," he says adding, "Actually I assisted Bhansali and Yash Chopra to learn acting.
I was 15 when I joined Yash Chopra during Dil To Pagal Hai as an assistant. I learnt how to relate to a director as an actor, how to relate to the camera as an actor and to face the filmi surroundings. When you are on the sets there are a lot of diversions. The lighting boy shouting, the camera man calling his shots. The director giving his views. There are lot of disturbances and as an actor how you have to concentrate on your lines without being distracted is what I got to learn on the sets."
He adds, "I wanted to be an actor since I was four. First I wanted to be an Air Force pilot after watching Top Gun but then I realised that I wanted to be Tom Cruise in Top Gun," reveals Sikandar. |
