Aaja Nachle Movie Review

Aaja Nachle Story :

“Aaja Nachle” is a story about a dancer Dia { Madhuri dixit}who resides in New York from the past few years . Unfortunately she gets a phone call, which is like a bolt of thunder to her. .  

Dia Srivatsav {madhuri didxit } returns to her home town ‘Shaymli’ from NewYork to meet her Guruji { Darshan Jariwala} who from her childhood taught her the basics and also dancing skills with which he migrated to a New York .  

But before she reaches he dies due to ill health. And adding to Dia ‘s distress is the news that government officials have decided to demolish the Guruji’s temple like theatre called Ajanta Theater . This was the place where Dia admired a lot as she grew up, gained wisdom ,loved & learnt  to dance . This was considered a very sacred place to her Guruji .( Click read more for full review).

To fulfill her Guruji’s last  wish Dia takes the load upon herself of saving the theatre from the government and to compensate it financially she announces a dance and musical show after 2 months so that she can gain the funds to save the theatre from the government officials demolishing hands. Dia with the help of Guru’s friend ‘s doctor { Raghuvir yadav } decides to organize the dance show cum stage drama with the help of the Shamili localites.  

Wining the hearts of the people of Shamli town, overcoming the offences of politicians and a powerful building contractor who is a real estate baddy, and finding the proper cast for her show is the rest of the story which has to be watched on big screen’s. The climax of this film is very interesting and ends on the happy note.

Performances

Madhuri sizzles in this movie with her grace, charm and her dancing talent . she shines in the whole movie . Konkana sen justifies her role as bubbly character . Akshay Khanna as usual is given little to do. But he does it with style and class. Kunal kapoor’s acting is also excellent .

Technical aspects

Choreography in the film is very much appreciable. Music is by Salim and Sulaiman and if the music would have been excellent this movie would have run for 100 days as this movie is totally dance oriented. But presently the music is average. The auditions for the stage show of Laila- Majnu are very comic and interesting. But this lacks tempo during the show of Laila- Majnu as it looks more dragged for about 25 minutes in the film’s climax.  

Totally this movie will be definitely be a comeback vehicle to Madhuri and her Latkas and Jatkas are a must watch in the film.  

This film is on the whole a 50 days film and may not run a life till 100 days.
