Bollywood bombshell Bipasha Basu has got the new bob look that is making many heads turn.

Bipasha has done it again. In her words, she was “bitten by a bug” to experiment with her hair again. After getting her hair chopped from long tresses to shoulder-length last year, the Bengali beauty has now gone for a still-shorter bob cut.

Bipasha reportedly got the cut from her trusted hair stylist Sapna Bhavnani a few days back. Since Bipasha had no shoots pending and no concern for maintaining continuity in any of her upcoming movies, she decided to let her hair go under Sapna’s confident scissors.

After the first session, Sapna gave Bipasha a cute bob cut that made her look very sweet and bubbly. But Bipasha wanted something out of the ordinary. So she had another session with Sapna. This time, Sapna gave Bipasha a chic, stylish and a tad punkish bob cut. Bipasha loved this cut and retained it.

Apparently, the new cut is inspired from the hair-do of Bipasha’s favourite style icon, pop singer Rihanna.

Bipasha made her first public appearance in her new haircut at the MTV Roadies – Race event in Mumbai on Tuesday night along with actor Saif Ali Khan . The tie-up is a unique way of promoting her upcoming film Race .

At the event, Bipasha looked absolutely stunning in a dazzling yellow outfit that went along perfectly with her bob cut. How well the new cut looks on her was evident from the eyeballs Bipasha attracted at the event.

The realtionship of Bipasha Basu and John Abraham has seen many ups and downs.

First, it was rumour of a break-up between the two, then there was a news of impending engagement too. In between Bipasha  Basu allegedly cosied up with soccer star Ronaldo.

Now, a very reliable source informs that Bipasha Basu has been trying to get close to the latest hot dude of tinsel town Ranbir Kapoor.

Only recently, when a producer came up to sign Bips for his new film, she immediately suggested Ranbu’s name.

Bipasha who created Ripples in Dhoom 2 is no longer willing to give in to the pressures of looking fit. Wearing a bikini requires a lot of effort she says.

However the actress is not going to give up wearing a bikini completely, the actress apparently will be seen wearing a bikini …if not on screen, then definitely during holidays. So all the Bips fans, I guess you’ll can do without seeing her in a Bikini for a while.

The sultry former model says that the effort of getting into shape to don a bikini on screen is just too much for her.

“Wearing a bikini is too tiring. Every inch of you has to be fit. When you are to do any such scene you can’t think about acting, you have to only think about being absolutely fit. I can’t go through that process again,” Bipasha is quoted by TOI

Never mind ma’am we can live with that. We can always imagine you in a bikini! A real skimpy one, not the grandmother kind of stuff you wear on screen. And when we do so, we guarantee you that your figure will be perfect.

Go ahead and chomp on whatever it is that you love to chomp on!

What we are not sure about is whether Bollywood producers will be ready to live with your decision. They are not the imagining kind.

Of course, John will not have to imagine Bipasha in a bikini (Even though he comes through as the imagining kind) because he will still get to see her the way we love to see her!

“Now, I am going to wear a bikini only for my holidays, not on screen. It’s too much of an effort to wear a bikini on screen,” Bipasha adds.

Lakme Fashion Week was suffering from a disappointing attedance until Bollywood star Bipasha Basu popped in to brighten things up.

The Hindi cinema’s superstar took to the catwalk for designer Narendra Kumar, while other fellow screen star John Abraham showed his support from the front row.

“Bollywood and fashion have always been together and they are not two different things and the front space is always booked for Bollywood stars,” says Bipasha.

Narendra Kumar’s chose the theme of ‘freedom from illiteracy’ for his latest collection which featured an interesting mix of bold alphabetic prints on muted colours.

Designers Falguni and Shane shyed away from the serious issues as they showcased their red carpet themed womenswear collection yesterday too.

“We only cater to celebrities. This collection was particularly designed to make women beautiful,” said the duo.

Bipasha Basu has signed her first ever art-house movie called Pankh. Apparently she will play herself in the film but refuses to use her real name for her character.

She is apprehensive because she fears it will create confusion. The film is to be directed by Shudipto Chattopadhyay.

Bipasha told IANS: “I really need to have a discussion with Shudipto on this. Yes, he’s very keen that I be called Bipasha in Pankh. But I’m not at all comfortable with my name being used for any character, even if I’m playing her. I’d rather stick to the character’s name Nandini…”

The film is about gender confusion in the life of a child actor who grows up thinking he’s a girl because of the female moppets he played as a child. Bipasha plays a Bollywood actress whom the muddled protagonist adores.

“Pankh is very special, and not just because it’s my first so-called art film. But the minute I heard the subject I was bowled over. It deals with a very serious problem within the film industry. Let’s not trivialise it by speculating whether the character I play is based on me. That’s exactly what will happen if my name is Bipasha in ‘Pankh’,” added Bipasha.

The film’s story recalls the case of child actor Ahsaas Channa, who’s apparently a girl passed off as a boy in movies like Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Vaastu Shastra.

Chattopadhyay has cast a newcomer, Maraddona, in the role of the androgynous boy.

The film is being produced by Sanjay Gupta’s production house White Feather, which will branch off into another brand name with Pankh to produce serious offbeat films.

Playing themselves seems a new trend for actors in Bollywood. Bobby Deol plays himself in Samir Karnik’s Nanhe Jaisalmer.

Bipasha Basu, who has just been signed up by Sir Ben Kingsley to play the role of Mogul Emperor Shah Jahan’s eldest daughter, Jahanara Begum, in his magnum opus on the construction of the Taj Mahal, looked her ravishing best in the capital Friday, 21 September.

Director Karan Johar and debutant actor Deepika Padukone unveiled Femina’s special issue on India’s 50 most beautiful women at Shangri La Hotel in New Delhi.
The issue is available as a set of five with the covers featuring Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, Preity Zinta, Priyanka Chopra and DeepikaPadukone.

Commenting on the release of the special issue of Femina, Shashikala Venkatraman, COO Worldwide Media, said: “Femina is all about celebrating women and womanhood. Bollywood hottie Bipasha Basu is all set to make her presence felt in Hollywood now!

Bipasha caught the attention of many people throughout the world when she hosted the New Seven Wonders of the World event in Lisbon in July with Hollywood stars Hilary Swank and Ben Kingsley.

After that, Bipasha signed Simone Sheffield as her manager in Hollywood. Simone is already the international manager of Aishwarya Rai.

Talking about Bipasha ’s foray into Hollywood, Simone told a Mumbai-based tabloid that Bipasha will work in two English movies to be made by prominent Hollywood studios.

Simone further adds that Bipasha has got another Hollywood offer on the table but things are not yet finalized because the male star of the film is still to be decided.

While Simone refuses to reveal anything about these projects, there is a rumor going around that Bipasha is being considered for a plum role in the future episodes of famous TV series Lost.

Of late, Bollywood beauties have begun catching a lot of attention in Hollywood.

Aishwarya Rai is already working in Pink Panther 2. Mallika Sherawat will be seen as a Muslim woman in Unveiled. Celina Jaitely also signed a Hollywood project recently.

MUMBAI: The grand finale of Indian Idol is just a step away. As one looks back on the last few months –from the auditions in different parts of the country, through the piano rounds, theatre rounds and to the last gala round it has been a truly memorable journey. Season 3 of Indian Idol has unanimously been declared the most popular with its worldwide viewers, talent and popularity of its contestants.

The gala round culminates this week. The two contestants who met during the piano round in Mumbai and became friends almost instantly and have remained room mates and best buddies throughout the contest are ironically pitted against each other in the finals. To their credit, Amit Paul and Prashant Tamang are fighting to the finish to do deliver their best yet with not a dent in their friendship which speaks volumes about the people they are.

The last gala round before the finals was a very special event. It had two very special guests – John Abraham and Bipasha Basu. The two decided to be on opposite teams to play a different ball game. Their “Goal” was to support the two competitors. Bipasha chose to support Amit (her mother too was there to support him) while John threw his weight behind Prashant.

In the first round each contestant sang a song of their choice. In the second they sang a song given by the other as challenge. Prashant sang Amit’s choice of song for him Badi mushkil hai … with such gay abandon that he had Annu Malek’s vote for the Indian Idol title! Prashant’s challenge for Amit was to sing Bulla ki jaana main kaun.. Amit got a standing ovation from all the four judges for it! Bipasha hoped some day soon Amit would do playback singing for John so that she would have the pleasure of hearing a romantic song in Amit’s voice sung for her! Did someone say the two had broken up.

In the final segment both contestants sang Tanhaiyee… from Dil chahta hai… the judges found it hard to decide who was better. It is going to be even harder for the viewers. Once again every viewer wishes that the best man wins the Indian Idol title. Go ahead and select your best man!
