With the holiday season on, Siddharth Anand’s Ta Ra Rum Pum was aimed to captivate not only the adults but also children as the film is based on speeding cars. But does the film succeed at the box office?
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh says, "The West has often made films on sportspersons depicting their rise and fall like Rocky and Cinderella Man. Siddharth borrows the concept from these films but he garnishes the material with desi emotions that work well with Indian moviegoers."
Trade analyst Vikas Mohan says, "The film has a fair amount of entertainment. There is a lot of excitement in the sequences of car racing." |

Director R. Balakrishnan or Balki, as he is affectionately called, plans to cast Amitabh Bachchan and son Abhishek together in his forthcoming venture Pa, which is going to be a light-hearted comedy about a father and a son. "An interesting fact is that Abhishek in real life also calls his father ‘Pa’," informs Balki. "They have rocked together in every movie they have done together, be it Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar, Shaad Ali’s Bunty Aur Babli or Karan Johar’s Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. They will once again rock in my film," says the director. |

Insiders have it that director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is unhappy with Sonam, who makes her debut opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Saawariya. "It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Sanjay fired the daylights out of Sonam. He was never happy with her," revealed a source. According to the source, Sonam has still to develop finer nuances as an actress. It was her inept acting abilities that would often become the reason for tiffs between the director and her. The source said, "Sanjay had to re-shoot nearly 30 per cent of Saawariya because he was unhappy that Sonam had failed to live upto his expectations. She needs a crash course in acting, he said. In fact while judging the Jhalak Dikhla Jaa show, Bhansali had gone on the record to say that Saawariya was the toughest to make because he was launching newcomers. |
