Default Samir’s the only new director Bobby likes

Actor Bobby Deol has been busy with Samir Karnik’s three films Nanhe Jaisalmer, Roshan and Bharat Mera Mahaan. The actor is also looking forward to interesting films that are in the pipeline. "Yes there’s Ek – The Power of One being directed by Sangeet Sivan. It is an action drama. Then there’s an interesting film Chamku, which is a home production being directed by Kabir Kaushik. I am performing the role of a Bihari alongwith Nana Patekar," says Bobby.

Bobby never works with new director but yes Samir Karnik was an exception. "I don’t like working with newcomers. I have to know the director well and be comfortable with him. Samir was after me to work with him for so long but when I read the script I was excited. Nanhe Jaisalmer was not just a children’s film. It was a film with a message. It was related to education. The child artiste Dwij Yadav was another amazing actor. He has spoken four different languages English, French, German and Hindi in the film. It is about a boy who lives like a guide and entertains tourists who come to Jaisalmer. He believes that education isn’t important," reveals Bobby.

Speaking about the other two films with Samir, Bobby says, "I am doing Roshan with Dwij again. This is also a different film. I was not comfortable with the kid earlier but once I got to know him it was easier. I am used to children as I have two of my own and have been playing with Sunny Bhaiyya’s kids. But children have a tendency to get distracted and have moods of their own. They tend to cry for their mothers every time, but after shooting for two months this boy became very friendly with me. He was warm, cute and funny."

Shooting for the film was not very difficult. "We shot for there for 17 days for Nanhe Jaisalmer. Once when we had a night shoot, we had done two days lighting near the lake and suddenly we saw darkness coming towards us. In half an hour there was a huge sandstorm. After two hours we had heavy rains. Shooting was delayed and the lighting had to be done again. Life is extremely different there," he added.
