Why is celebrity gossip so addictive?

They're not addictive, this country needs to stop with this Hollywood obsession, the ROW laughs at us. People like it cuz it either makes their lives feel better that they're not as screwed up or that their lives are so dull they wish it was that exciting and glamorous.

Because most of the gossip is negative and we normally like to hear negative things about people that seem to live better lives than we do. Makes us feel better for some strange reason.
